IATA Live Animals Regulations (LAR) course aviation training course

IATA's Live Animals Regulations course will teach you how to transport live animals by air safely, in the correct container and with the correct documentation. Learn about container requirements, documentation requirements, and awareness of animals’ health. Learn how to comply with standards and international welfare regulations. The successful application of the IATA Live Animals Regulations for the transport of live animals by air and the achievement of the provisions of international legislation regarding animal welfare during transport are greatly dependent on how well personnel are trained.

Course format

  • This is a self-study course, which will take you approximately 4-6 hours to complete, depending on your previous knowledge and experience.
  • The course materials are provided in e-book format.
  • You will have 12 months to complete the course and exam (enrollment validity), which starts from the date you purchase the course.
  • Performance will be based on an assessment. Please refer to the Assessment Information below for more details.

Please note: Once you have completed the exam you will no longer have access to the course material, and after the 12-month enrollment validity expires you will no longer have access to the course content, nor will you be able to take the exam.
