Digital Transformation and Innovation in the Air Cargo Industry
From September 23-25, Geneva was the hub of two significant events that brought together industry leaders and experts to discuss the future of digitalization in air cargo.
The Digitalization Leadership Charter Forum saw 26 participants representing 22 companies come together to discuss digitalization priorities. The forum provided a platform for in-depth discussions on industry initiatives aimed at leading digital transformation. Participants shared insights and strategies, fostering a collaborative environment to drive forward the digital agenda.
The Digital Cargo Conference attracted over 150 participants. The conference focused on the implementation strategies of ONE Record and showcasing real-life examples of its benefits for various stakeholders. Discussions also covered new technologies, including AI and ML, and their impact on the air cargo supply chain.
"Digitalization is imperative for the air cargo industry. It requires alignment to ensure a unified and effective approach", said Brendan Sullivan, IATA’s Global Head of Cargo during his keynote speech.
During the 2 days of the conference, Digital Cargo executives, project leaders and professionals were discussing the latest regulations, standards, business processes, and technology with focus on strategies to implement ONE Record, as well as generative AI into aviation operations.

With an unyielding commitment to collaboration across the supply chain, cybersecurity, and environmental stewardship, IATA continues promoting the Digitalization Leadership Charter to accelerate the industry transition towards ONE Record. It fosters a unified digital strategy focusing on sustainable, ethical, and forward-thinking use of new technologies. The initiative is supported by the industry, the number of signatories has more than doubled since the launch of the charter earlier this year.
Both events were hailed as great successes, with participants providing positive feedback on the discussions and outcomes. The collaborative spirit and innovative ideas shared during these events are expected to significantly influence the future of digital transformation and air cargo logistics.
