Cabin Crew face daily challenges in maintaining cabin safety standards, advancements in technology, sociological and geo-political tension and the demands on aviation have all served to make the cabin environment more challenging, both as a consumer and as an aviation professional. The influence and impact that cabin crew have on safety outcomes should not be marginalised and it is important that training needs, and regulatory support is updated to reflect the current demands and responsibilities.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has embarked on a program with the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) to identify and enhance training provision to Cabin Crew in the region of Kenya. As well as enhancing the training program, the KCAA has also identified that the National Aviation Safety Plan (NASP) could be more reflective of the importance that cabin teams have on safety outcomes.
