Open API Strategic Partnerships Summary

These days an Application Programming Interface (API) is a necessity to digitalize and streamline corporate processes and has become an integral part of an organization’s product and data strategy.

This Strategic Partnership area aims to facilitate the airline industry’s transition away from costly legacy solutions and achieve a digitally connected industry data ecosystem based on modern API technology and open standards.

Benefits

  • Understand airlines’ challenges in data exchange with their partners.
  • Participate in the IATA Open API working group with airlines and develop industry technology standards and best practices.
  • Participate in face-to-face Open API Strategic Partner meetings  (one meeting to be held at the IATA WDS).
  • Up to two free passes to attend the IATA World Data Symposium (WDS) with speaker opportunities.
  • Opportunities to network with API professionals from airlines and other industry parties.

Activities

  • IATA Open API working group holds meetings with the airlines and industry API professionals to develop API standards and supporting tools and promote standard adoption. The Strategic Partners are invited to participate in the group, based on their expertise and capacity to support the work.
  • IATA organizes Open API webinars to promote industry API standards and ecosystem. The Strategic Partners are invited to participate and present the API case for the benefit of the airline industry.
  • Face-to-face Open API meetings.
