The Cargo Agency Conference (CAConf) takes action on matters relating to relationships between airlines and intermediaries engaged in the sales and/or processing of international air cargo such as the IATA Cargo Agent/Intermediary accreditation programs. It also sets the rules for the Cargo Accounts Settlement System (CASS).
CAConf defines the framework of business between carriers, freight forwarders, and agents. The conference has a global impact as proposals and adoption define the rules for all the different Cargo Agency Programs across the world.
Each active member of IATA that operates a scheduled commercial international air transport service for the carriage of cargo is eligible to appoint a CAConf representative.
